Church Archaeology - Services
A significant proportion of works within functioning churches can be carried out under a faculty from the relevant dioceses. On occasion a faculty can require an archaeological input; most frequently this is in the form of archaeological monitoring (otherwise known as a watching brief). Typically this is on ground disturbance works (e.g. service trenches) within or around historic churches.
JB Archaeology Ltd has a worked with a number of churches and PCCs monitoring a range of alterations and renovations within churches and service trenches crossing historic graveyards.
