Watching Brief (WB) - Services
A watching brief is the commonest archaeological planning condition and in essence involves the monitoring, by an archaeologist, of all ground disturbance works (e.g. foundations, service trenches) to a previously agreed written scheme of investigation (WSI). Typically the duration of the monitoring works is dependent upon how long the ground works take to complete. A report is then produced on the results of the monitoring which will fully discharge that planning condition.
JB Archaeology Ltd has a well established track record of providing appropriate WSIs and undertaking watching briefs along with suitable reports in order to satisfy planning conditions.
