Evaluation - Services

JB Archaeology Ltd Archaeology JB Archaeology Ltd ArchaeologyTypically an evaluation is requested when there is thought to be a moderate or high potential for archaeological remains to be present within a development site but the nature, degree of preservation and their extent is unknown. An evaluation can take several forms but most commonly is a series of trial trenches (the number and size of which are in relation to the size of the proposed development area) which are archaeologically excavated to a previously agree written scheme of investigation (WSI). A report is produced on the results of the evaluation which is then used to assist in the development of any required mitigation strategy.

JB Archaeology Ltd has successfully completed many evaluations which have then allowed an appropriate mitigation strategy to be developed for the rest of the development.
