Evaluation - Example Project

As a result of an initial DBA, a programme of evaluation was carried out on a small housing development in Pickburn, South Yorkshire. The requirement was the excavation of three trial trenches totalling 70m². The evaluation recorded that the majority of the site had already been severely compromised by the 19th century railway and, where there were no railway remains there were no archaeological features or finds and so the planning condition could be discharged.
